St. Patrick’s Day Clover Project and Free Text Files!

This month, we celebrate the luck of the Irish and Bonnie has the perfect design to do just that. Just add GlitterFlex to a four-leafed clover and it’s pure magic!

Four-leafed clovers have a special place in my heart. I think my mom holds the world record for finding the most as we were growing up. When I saw Bonnie’s Kiss Me/Lucky Clovers set, I knew I had to make something special.

Machine applique design opened in software to remove text and face on Bonnie's Blog at Sew Inspired by Bonnie

Start by opening the Kiss Me Clover design. I eliminated each of the components of the face as well as the text in Embrilliance.

I added the text in two parts. Each was fashioned with the circle text option of Embrilliance. I’m Not Lucky, wrapped around the top arch.

I’m Blessed! wrapped around the bottom arch. I then rotated each line of text to align better with the clover.

The text I added is purple but you can make it any color you wish. Since there are two purple sections of text, color sort the file before saving it so that all of the text stitches out without stopping before going from one line to the next.

Remember to save your newly created file with a name different from the original so that your original Kiss Me Clover file stays intact. Also make sure to save a working copy (.be) of your newly created file. Otherwise, you will not be able to go back and make any changes.

Hoop your fabric with a medium-weight tear-away stabilizer and stitch the design. I chose an interfaced neutral watermarked fabric for the background which went nicely with the light-toned wooden frame.

Fuse the GlitterFlex when prompted. Don’t get too excited and forget like I did here. When embroidery is finished, press and pop into the frame.

Don't have the software or maybe the time to make your own text? You can download the free text here. Wishing you all the luck of the Irish and many blessings!
