Organization is key, especially when going into the busiest stitching season of the year, and these blogs show you how to make it happen! My biggest nemesis, by far, is the inconsistency in which I keep my materials organized. Life gets in the way, which makes it even more important to keep a sense of order.
It is so much more fun to stitch with an organized sewing area where I can easily find what I need. Fortunately, we have plenty of blogs on organizing everything from your designs to thread and fabric.
How to Get Your Sewing Room Organized
Bonnie shows you a great way to fold and organize your fabric here so that it is neat, orderly, and easy to see. Don’t forget about keeping your fabric and GlitterFlex scraps and even stabilizer scraps. Why waste a big piece when a small one will do? Keeping your stabilizers at hand and properly identified makes it easy to grab the right kind and the right weight for your project.
Bonnie has a lot of tips for organizing thread plus, she has a beautifully organized thread cabinet that will make you green with envy. Thread storage trays also help keep specific and miscellaneous spools arranged.
When you are stitching, keeping your embroidery threads in the correct order as your stitching chart not only saves time it also prevents stitching mishaps. Check out this blog post about thread organizing trays.
As far as projects, it’s best to keep them all together, too--from the instructions to the fabrics, threads, and other necessities. Bonnie likes to use large, gallon sized, clear plastic zip bags and has a great blog about making project kits here. When projects are packaged, you can grab one and stitch when time and inspiration strike.
Perhaps the best tip is to put things away when you are done so that you can easily find them the next time!
