Looking for bargains on Black Friday? Take inventory; we’ve got some tips for buying machine embroidery supplies!
Black Friday is a good time to buy embroidery, sewing, and quilting supplies. While so many things can now be purchased online rather than standing in line, you can take advantage of great sales (even your local shop) from the comfort of home. We have tips to help you make good choices, just click on the links below!
Buying a New Sewing or Embroidery Machine
A new machine is a big purchase. Most importantly, choose a good dealer. They will show you options to consider and let you test drive before you buy.
Are you upgrading your machine, your software, or both? Do you want to purchase a different brand of machine or stay with the same brand you have?
Sometimes, it helps to read about what other embroiderers wish that they had known before they bought their machine. You can see that here.
Thread, Bobbins, and Needles
It’s always nice to buy supplies at sales prices. Make sure you start with your local shop. Even though you may not need thread, pre-wound bobbins or needles, if they are a good price, you will use them in the future.
Cutting Tools and Notions
Not sure you can ever have enough scissors. How about a pair that is easy on your hands, a set to cut and release thread nests, or a new cutting mat.
You may be interested in a magnetic hoop, hooping mat, or pressing pads. You can see some of Bonnie’s favorite notions here.
Fabric, Batting, and Stabilizers
Grab your pattern instructions and make sure you have all the fabrics and batting that you need for upcoming projects. Stabilizers are used in nearly every machine embroidery project, so having a selection of your most-often-used kinds and weights will be useful in the long run if stored properly.
Make sure you pay attention to Bonnie’s Black Friday sales – you’ll be glad that you did!
